Zoe Evans
Hello,  my name is Zoe Evans and I am excited to introduce myself as the principal of Bowdon High School.  Prior to being named Bowdon's principal, I served as an assistant principal at Central Middle School and Villa Rica High School.  Before becoming a school administrator, I was a middle grades science teacher.  I taught seventh and eighth grade science for nineteen years in both Florida and Georgia and I have been employed with Carroll County Schools since 2001.  As a teacher, I obtained National Board Certification in Early Adolescent Science and a was classified as a Georgia Master Teacher.  In  2005, I was honored to be named the Georgia recipient of the Presidential Award of Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.  I have served as a member of the Georgia Department of Education Science Frameworks writing team, which created instructional models designed to help guide Georgia teachers in the implementation of the Georgia Performance Standards and I am a member of the Georgia Science Education Advisory Committee.  Additionally, I served as a member of the writing team for the Next Generation Science Education Standards.  I am an active member of both the Georgia Science Teachers Association and the National Science Teachers Association where I serve as the Coordination and Supervision Director.  I am a native Georgian and I grew up in Carroll County attending Carroll County schools from 1st through 12th grades.  I continued my education at the University of West Georgia where I earned a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education, master’s degree in middle grades science, specialist’s degree in middle-grade science and a certification in Educational Leadership.  I live in Carrollton with my husband, Chris, and two extremely spoiled dogs.  I am the proud parent of two young adults, my daughter Quinn and my son, Kent.
