Bio
Mr. Matthew Bass is the Band Director of Bowdon High School. Mr. Bass in entering his 10th year of teaching. In addition to heading the high school band program, he also teaches 5th grade band at Bowdon Elementary and assists with the band program at Bowdon Middle School. Mr. Bass began his career in education with the Bremen City School District in 2008 where he served as the Band Director at Bremen Middle School and Assistant Band Director at Bremen High School. In 2012, he was named Teacher of the Year. Throughout his career, Mr. Bass has led middle and high school bands to Superior Ratings at Marching competitions and Large Group Performance Evaluation events.
Mr. Bass’ educational credentials include his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of West Georgia.
He is a proud member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity and Kappa Alpha Psi Inc.
Mr. Bass stated, “He hopes to continue the great legacy that the Red Devils have established and build a future for all who love music.
