Teacher of the Year 

The Carroll County Board of Education honored the 2011 Teacher of the Year from each school with a reception on October 15, 2009.  During the regular board meeting the announcement for the 2011 County Teacher of the Year and the two alternates were announced.  Dr. Sheila Reed of Bowdon High School was announced with the prestigious honor.  The two alternates were Mrs. Monica Smith, Central High School and Mrs. Nancy Monroe, Mt. Zion High School.  Southwire sponsored the reception to honor the nominees and their families.  Other sponsors included First National Bank, Chick-fil-A, Tanner Health System, Bank of North Georgia, and Edible Arrangements, Douglasville , Georgia.
